Having spent a lot of money on this radio I really would like it to earn its keep! If you have, contact me at the above address and we'll discuss a price; or failing that, if you want to buy my cosmetically nice 1400 from me you can - but it won't be cheap, I'm afraid!

Hi! Does anyone have a spare dial glass for a radio made by Elekronska Industrija of the former Yugoslavia - model RR230?. It was marketed for export as BARCLAY (but not known in the country of origin as that name). There have even been reports of such a set been manufactured by E.I NIS in Czechoslovakia. I have contacted some people who say that they could make a good scan of their dials, but have not heard any further information on the subject. I am sure that someone in the U.K or Europe has spare parts for this radio? The dial glass on my set has been broken in two sections, which I have now glued together, but of course the join is obvious, and some of the backing paint has peeled off it. The dial has a mention of Radio Caroline on 199 mtrs medium wave on it, which dates it to about 1964. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could assist me? Best wishes Mike Horne

Does anyone have spares & info for a BARCLAY a.m push-button valve mains radio. It was made in 1964 by E.I, who were based in former Yugoslavia. This model was an export, and was shipped to the U.K. I require the dial glass for the export model (even has Radio Caroline on dial!), as mine has broken in two parts. A photo can be sent to show the basic outline of the set. Thanks. Mike Horne

Ad No.: 3046 - Subject: Ministry "Loxon" Manual binders - Posted on: 11/11/02
Reply to: Alan Hulme at lanc@ahulme682.fsnet.co.uk
I'm looking for original "Loxon" binders, as used for many, many years by various Branches of the British Armed Forces to bind technical manuals in. They are typically made of stiff brown card, with a fabric covered spine and the contents are held together by laces to facilitate removal and replacement of individual sheets. The subject matter of the manual was usually printed onto gummed paper and stuck to the front cover. There is usually a Manufacturers label gummed to the inside front cover (Hunt and Broadhurst Ltd, Oxford). They come in various sizes. I'd like to get hold of surplus binders, contents immaterial as long as the binder is sound. If anyone has an unwanted stash in the loft or garage, please tell me about it. Thanks in advance! Alan Hulme.

Reply to: Mike Izycky at mjizycky@hotmail.com
I'm looking for sales literature from both the pre- and post-war era, not only to add to my collection but also as research material for a future website. I'm particularly interested in obtaining a 1937-38 model year catalogue (covering the 40-series models) and a 1940 model year catalogue (covering the 70-series sets). Also individual model brochures covering the radiograms, and sets prior to 1935 also wanted: depending upon the item and condition I will pay up to £40 for these.

Post-war information is particularly wanted too (especially radiograms), from 1946 to 1950 and 1955 onwards.

Regards, Mike.

Thanks in advance, Mike.

Does anybody have any information on a "Receiver Broadcast Type 'A' "?

It's in a military green wooden cabinet with two doors on the front which cover the set when not in use, and is designed for operation from a six-volt accumulator.

Inside it's very obviously a Bush AC71 chassis: but it had a vibrator power unit to generate the HT. Sadly mine has lost this and it has been replaced by a 'normal' mains transformer and rectifier. Does anybody have any information, photos or diagrams of the set in its original form?

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

Reply to: John Simons at sam@baldeagle.worldonline.co.uk
I'm still here..lurking in the background....still looking for a jacket to wrap around me to keep me warm...Yes I know that summer has just started, but winter will soon be here and then my terminals will chatter and all my valves will turn blue... and then what will I do? Another AR88 will wither and die...so if you've got a case for an AR88 tucked away that you want to turn into cash then let my owner, John, know and he'll collect it from anywhere on the UK mainland.

I am restoring some vintage gear to pristine condition and am short of the following: Original Knobs for Leak Point One stereo preamp (I guess the knobs from a mono one will do as well) 1 or 2 bronze/brown HT Capacitor (32+32uF) for Leak TL12+. Even the can alone will do. 1 or 2 Chassis for TL12+, not been drilled/modified in any way. (I’ve got one with a lovely dent in it) Shorting plugs for Leak power amp transformers (2 each power and output transformers) 2-pin speaker plugs for a Leak Stereo 70 I got from the NEC audio fair, but found out they were missing, I’d like at least two more, but four is preferable. Circuit Diagrams for Mullard tuner module LP1186 (and related IF & stereo decoder modules, if you have them). Circuit diagrams for Leak Stereo 70 & Stereofetic Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any (or all!), this is a list of projects I’m very keen to complete.
