i have a valve tester for sale. Its a windsor model 45b made by taylors. It is complete with manuals (both instruction manual and valve data manual for setting the switches)and has the top cap fitting , it will test virtually any valve as it has all the familiar bases and a few ive never encountered, from the range of valve holders i'd say its mid to late 50's it seems to work well ive tested a few valves with it .externally the case is a little worn ( a few paint chips) but otherwise a nice useable item. please e-mail for pics and any questions

Purchased 1948 and had remained in continual family use until last Christmas when unfortunately the frequency selector button ceased operation. Set has some cosmetic damage and loose control buttons, but aside from this and the aforementioned fault the set is in good working order. £100 ono.

This set awaiting test in good cosmetic condition and inside looks good. as yet untested. Size 12.5 by 12.5 by 7 inches in black case with carrying handle. Three dials. one showing metres 900/2000and 200/ 550,the other two for medium and long wave stations.No makers name. Four valves...Mazda UP210, HL 2 by two, and a Mazda output Pentode. Two other controls switch mw lw and off.,and a variometer control I assume for reaction. There are four leads I assume for HT and LT,which at the moment I cannot figure out as the lead ends appear to be modified. Looks quite conventional inside and extremely clean. Appears to have two tuned circuits. Should you recognise this set ex NEC on Sunday please contact or if you are interested in purchasing e mail please.

2 Pairs of these speakers in untested condition, no cables or connecting leads. Generally in good original condition with minor dents on one pair. Unlike most advertisers who use this site and "do not know how much they want" for the items they are selling until you mention a price and then it is either not enough which means they do know but aren't saying or they have to "think" about it, a euphemism for saying thanks but if I can get another 50 pence more then I'll sell it to someone else, I do; £800. Unless sold previously I intend taking them to the NVCF at the N.E.C. on Sunday.

I have an orginal BUSH TR82 that was purchased by my Gran in 1965. I have the receipt too, number 9335, in it's original plastic sleeve, both in immaculate condition ! The radio was handed over to my Father, who died in 1999 and thus it came to me. It worked in 1999 and so as far as I'm aware, it still does, but will require a new Ever ready PP9 type battery.
The radio is in near perfect condition but obviously at nearly 40 years old, is not in "brand new" condition. The colour is beige with a brown band around the outside. I will clean it up as best I can with normal household polish so as to protect it's dignity ! If this is of interest to anyone, let me know, and maybe make me an offer. I reside in Bedfordshire so may be able to deliver. Petrol cost would need to be covered by the purchaser.

I have for sale a quantity of new old stock 450V dual electrolytics. Made by LRC in UK 1986/7. Two types 50uF + 50uF in a can 1 3/8 x 3 inches. Also 32uF + 16 uF in a can 1 3/8 x 2 inches. £3 each plus postage at cost. They will be re-formed and tested at 400v before despatch.

I have had this item for several weeks and other than cleaning the bakelite it is original as I received it . The speaker cloth is dirty as is the two dial section but I feel it is restorable given a little patience. It fired up on connecting the mains plug so now I either sell it or wait until I have time to clean up the rest of the set. This was the first set made by EKCO for Radio Rentals. Fig 433 Radio Radio.The two dial section is one attached by two pins over the other.

The chassis and instruction booklet which includes the circuit diagram of a Hybrid Valve and Transistor FM Multiplex Stereo Tuner/Amplifier. A classic of its day, bought in Singapore in about 1966 and still in excellent working order. I have no more use for it but can't bring myself to 'bin' it. Exceptionally cheap to a good home!!

I acquired this item today with a number of plug in units presumably for frequency changes. Millitary item from the 40s made by the National Company Inc 0f Malden Mass USA. also an unamed mystery green metal associated box ? Philco 806 in previos ad probably had a form of Bowden cable running from tuning condenser spindle to a seperate tuning dial mounted on dashboard. can anyone elaborate on this american manufacture set. The Phillips is a circa 1928 model 2514 of interest to collectors of vintage items in very nice condition for year, may be of interest to somebody. I have acquired a metal boxed Philco with carrying handle Chassis type 806 Code 121 , 6 Volt. It has six valves with a shielded rectifier section. Has anyone any info on this. I suspect it may be an old type of car or aircraft radio. it is about 10 " 7" 7" in size. The knobs for the three controls are missing and there is no dial of any sort alyhough it has a ganged variable standard condenser.A lodspeaker is also in the case. Needs a bit of work. Several switches snapped off, brakes a bit noisy, and some loose connections on the ouput. Analogue counter also not working. 7.5IPS and 15 IPS. Heads in very good condition. Have an origial A 92 Young man with a horn phonograph collection. It is a 6 albums set. It includes songs by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Harry James and Orchestra, as well as Benny Goodman. I have this mystery chassis maybe military maybe marine which on the front looks like areduced version of an AR88. the front looks non original and the chassis has another smaller chassis mounted on part of the main chassis about an inch above. This chassis has two three gang variables one of which only has a single moving blade on each gang ,the other standard. .0005. there are also two valves on this chassis 6K7 and 6K8. The main chassis has a 6J5 6k7 unknown ? 6Q7 6H6 6V6 and NAPL 102 rectifier. This Tombstone model recently returned from Malta, thought to be an export model is in magnificent condition for a 1945 model.It appears to be untouched electrically having been stored in clean conditions for many years. Works ok on all bands ,but volume somewhat lower than normal. You want a good one, here it is !

I have two Zenith radios ,one is an H 500 model in poor condition at present but could be restored. The wooden cabinet has become unglued and the cabinet needs completely recovering with a black paper covering. It barely works but could be of interest. The other is a black portable model 4G 903 . Rare 'quality' French horn speaker in black painted metal, from the mid-1920s in very good cosmetic condition. It is all original. There are no dents, cracks or repairs, and no wear or dings worth mentioning. Seems to have a chromed base, its original decal in the flare, and is generally in good order. It stands 24" high and the bell is 14" in diameter. Brunet is a very collectable name, mostly for the best in French horn speakers.

A caller last evening left me in possession of the filthiest radio imaginable. The piano keys were black black instead of white, the veneer torn off some corrosion ,not too serious on the chassis , you might say the lot was very distressed. I attempted to fire it up and bingo there was a hum , all valves light up but as yet no sound. Maybe the tuning condenser not turning and or volume control further . What shall I do with it? I had a similar model in the West Indies in the 50s so it has a sentimental value to me., or maybe I will sell for restoration or spares. Either way it would form a great restoration project. Cheers. TWO off turntables, both in excellent working condition.
ONE Lenco L75 in superb condition. Looks like a Dynatron base unit with hinged perspex lid (lid is a bit dirty, just needs a good wash... I'll leave that to you in case I damage it by cleaning it !). Bottom piece is damaged drilled out hardboard, easy to replace (or just discard). No cartridge, but fitted with a drilled out headshell to reduce mass. Arm is very good condition and original. Also fitted with an extra arm and (probably crystal or ceramic) cartridge for 78rpm use. Metal dust bug type cleaner. Rewired with modern mains and output cables. Fitted with bubble spirit level. No flat spots on idler. Platter is 3.75KG (8lb) - a real monster ! All round flippin' marvellous. GBP60, buyer must collect - last time I sold my TD150 it got smashed to bits in the post (Parcelforce, but they paid out on insurance !!).
ONE 1973 vintage Goldring-Lenco GL75, in heavy wooden base, lid intact, but with a minor chip on one corner. Anti-Skating system - only one weight (4gms), but no wire, so will need a bit of fishing line to complete. Spec almost identical to above (same platter and arm), but not rewired with new cables. Headshell is plain solid grey metal, undrilled. No cartridge. Fitted with original Watts Dust Bug. GBP40, and again, buyer must collect.

This excellent working model has an Airplane circular dial.tunes on two short wave bands, medium and long,has twin tone controls. A tuning control with vernier conyrol for precise tuning, usual volume control ,switch etc. has a G Marconi emblem on top of set. Very good appearance.

The RCA chassis has no identification marks. Appears to be military or marine and weighs a ton, complete with cobwebs etc. Have no clue what it is Have a guess! Dont know what this one was ever used for. Described on the box as an Ediswan GPO Bulb. Rectifier , Tungar 6 AMP, 70 VOLT , 68506 Electronic Valve. Shaped like an early type Christmas light with a screw in base , but much larger and silvery in colour. Can anyone solve the puzzle as to what equipment it was used in.
